Here's photographs taken and a list of birds sighted on our property. Quail Hollow is located in Tujunga, California (about 25 miles outside of Downtown Los Angeles). It's located in the foothills of the Verdugo Mountains, near the San Gabriel Mountains, about 5 minutes from the borders of the Angeles National Forest and the Big Tujunga Wash, home to several endangered species. The environment is urban oak scrub with some riparian elements (we have several small ponds and have 3 artificial streams). The temperatures range in winter average from 25 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and 75 to 100+ degrees Fahrenheit in summer. The primarily reasons for the abundance of birds are the water features and the 500+ Californian Native plant species on the property.
